Nagarkot (Sunrise and Breakfast):
5:30 AM: Arrive in Nagarkot just in time to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayan mountains. You’ll have the opportunity to observe and identify various peaks, including Mount Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, and more, as the morning sun bathes them in a warm, golden glow.
7:30 AM: After enjoying the sunrise, proceed to a local restaurant or café in Nagarkot for a delicious breakfast. Savor traditional Nepali cuisine or your preferred breakfast options.
Hiking to Changunarayan Temple:
9:00 AM: With renewed energy from breakfast, begin your hike towards Changunarayan Temple. The trail meanders through lush forests, picturesque villages, and terraced fields, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
12:30 PM: Arrive at Changunarayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ancient temple complex, known for its intricate stone carvings, and immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of the region.
1:00 PM: Enjoy your lunch amid the peaceful surroundings near the temple. Take some time to relax and soak in the serene ambiance.
Afternoon:

We lead the Nagarkot Sunrise hike, but if you plan to stay overnight during the high season, plan and book your room in advance, as hotels often become full later in the day. When you arrive later in the day you may have to take whatever you can get, which might mean a room without a view. In the afternoon, you will have a better selection of rooms if you arrive before the tourist buses.

Day Hike from Kathmandu

Explore the Tranquil Countryside: Nagarkot Changunarayan Day Hike

This day hike is a perfect blend of cultural exploration and natural immersion.  The route meanders through peaceful woodlands, presenting opportunities to connect with nature and breathe in the crisp mountain air.  Along the way, you’ll have the chance to visit the sacred Champa Devi Temple, adding a touch of cultural significance to your trekking experience.  This trail is ideal for those seeking a moderate day of trekking near Kathmandu, away from the city’s hustle.

8:00 AM: Hotel Pickup (Inside Ring Road including Boudha area).

Your guide and private vehicle will pick you up from your hotel in Kathmandu. Transfer to Chandragiri Cable Car station. This allows approximately 30 minutes for the drive from your hotel to the cable car station, depending on traffic.

9:00 AM: Chandragiri Cable Car Ride

Enjoy an 11-minute gondola ride to the top of Chandragiri Hill, experiencing scenic views over the forest. Explore Chandragiri Hill Viewpoint. Take your time to explore the viewpoint at Chandragiri Hill, enjoying the panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley and the snow-capped mountains.

11:30 AM: Start Hike to Hattiban

Begin your approximately 5-hour hike from Chandragiri Hill towards Hattiban. The trail goes through a deep forest with uphill and downhill sections. Champa Devi Temple Visit (Optional). You will pass by Champa Devi Temple en route. You can take a short break to visit the temple if you wish. Lunch break will be on the way according to your requirement and continue hiking. Enjoy the nature hike, taking breaks as needed. You may find local teashops along the way where you can stop for refreshments (at your own expense).

4:30 PM (Approx.): Arrive at Hattiban Resort & Descent

You will descend towards Hattiban Resort, concluding the hiking portion of the day. Transfer back to Hotel. Your private vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Kathmandu. Hotel Drop-off. Arrive back at your hotel, concluding the “Chandragiri Hattiban Day Hike”.
