Baruntse Peak. 7129m
Baruntse is at the height of 7129m in between on the lap of Everest and Makalu Mountain. Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow first ascended this mountain on 30 May 1954. They climbed the mountain by the South -East Ridge. Since then many climbers have used this route and Climbed successfully.
The south -East Ridge of Baruntse is little bit difficult because of being straightforward hard ways to climb. There are hard sections of 50 Degree’s elevation with a prominent ice cliff to be climbed facing the risk of avalanches. The climbers have succeeded the mountain mostly in the spring season because of being the best season for climbing due to safety reason. But some climbers have reached on its top in the autumn season as well.
The expedition starts with Kathmandu – Lukla flight and approximately 11 days trekking on foot to Baruntse Base camp. Base camp of Baruntse is very near to Pacha Pokhari at the height of 5200m. This Baruntse can be climb through Arun valley from Makalu Base camp as well.
