The Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC) is a compact yet rewarding high-altitude trek that reaches 4,130m at the Annapurna Sanctuary. The trail blends cultural immersion with dramatic Himalayan scenery, passing Gurung villages, terraced farmlands, bamboo forests, and rhododendron valleys before opening to panoramic views of Annapurna I, Machapuchare, Hiunchuli, and other towering peaks.
This trek is rated moderate in difficulty, with daily walking of 5–7 hours across varied terrain. Good physical fitness and prior hiking experience are recommended.
Best Time to Trek:
Spring (March–May): Stable weather, blooming rhododendrons, clear skies, average temperatures between 0°C at higher altitudes and up to 20°C in lower regions.
Autumn (September–November): Dry season with crystal-clear mountain views, pleasant daytime temperatures, and cool nights. Considered the most favorable season.
Winter (December–February): Possible but very cold, especially above 3,000m; some lodges may close.
Monsoon (June–August): Not recommended due to heavy rainfall, leeches, and poor visibility.
